The side event explores how independent Ukrainian media contributes to reconstruction, democratic transformation, and public trust. Through an interactive session with real-life case studies, live polling, and collaborative exercises, participants will identify strategies to support sustainable, ethical journalism. The event will promote partnerships among media, donors, government, and academia to make strong media a foundation of Ukraine’s recovery.
Main goals of the event include:
To demonstrate how independent Ukrainian media contributes to reconstruction, democratic transformation, and public trust.
To explore journalism’s role not only as a chronicler, but as an active driver of justice, anti-corruption, and societal cohesion.
To engage participants in identifying what is needed to support sustainable and ethical media as a pillar of Ukraine’s recovery.
To promote concrete partnerships among donors, media, government, and academia for long-term cooperation.
