The workshop on the train from Warsaw to Gdansk aims to use the time of the trip for discussion in with a larger audience of stakeholders (gov, admin, business, diplomats) the conclusions and recommendations produced during two events organized by CIR and THINKTANK and their partners in Warsaw in the eve of URC:
Leaders Forum Better Europe (22-23.06) – a gathering of opinion leaders, experts and think tankers from all the EU member states and countries-friends (EEA, Switzerland, UK) who came to Poland to discuss the current situation of the EU in the context of “pressure of enlargement”.
European Town Hall on URC (22-23.06) – a gathering of young people (under age of 25) from different European countries to discuss 5 main topics of URC and work out a few concrete solutions to move things forward.

Organised by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Łukasiewicz Research Network, this in-person event will highlight strategic, evidence-based support for Ukraine’s recovery in the framework of its EU accession process. Across four thematic panels focusing on Smart Specialisation, agricultural resilience, energy security and sustainable infrastructure, the event will bring together JRC staff and stakeholders from the Ukrainian and Polish scientific communities, enabling the identification of synergies across these strategic sectors. In doing so, the event will support a coherent recovery approach, aligned with Ukraine’s EU accession priorities.

The event will provide a platform to present recent developments in the Ukrainian insurance market, demonstrate the coordinated efforts of regulators and market participants, showcase successful international partnerships, and discuss practical mechanisms that can support investment and recovery efforts. It will also help strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian insurers, international financial institutions, investors, and global insurance groups.
